ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan that the courts work according to the law.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by CJP Justice Mian Saqib Nisar resumed hearing of the suo moto case against encroachments in Bani Gala.

During the proceedings, the CJP while addressing Imran Khan said that we all have to respect the court.

“You are not an individual, adding that being the leader of the nation you have major responsibility as your call can cause stability or chaos in the country, the CJP asked the PTI chairman.

“You should play a constructive role to pull the nation out of the atmosphere of mistrust,” he added.

Talking to media after hearing of the suo moto case against encroachments in Bani Gala, Imran Khan voiced concerns over illegal constructions in the country.

He said that such activities need to be checked for the protection of our environment.

The PTI chairman said that we will have to work together to strengthen the institutions.

Criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Khan said that the workers of the ruling party were distributing sweets after their leader was declared ‘corrupt’ by the court.
