Cargo, passenger trains derail near Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH (92 News) – A cargo and passenger train each derailed in two separate incidents near Muzaffargar on Monday. As per details, the first incident took place early in the morning near Bhattapur railway crossing when at least five bogies of a train derailed. The train was en route to Multan after deporting furnace oil at Rawalpindi station. On the other hand, engine and a bogie of Mehr Express detracked near railway station Muzzafargarh without causing any loss. The Divisional Superintendent Multan said that all passengers are safe and repair work is underway to restore traffic soon. The train was carrying passengers to Multan from Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, three employees, including the station master, have been suspended on the charge of negligence.
