Cement factories to be charged for usage of underground water: CJ

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar remarked on Friday that the cement factories will be charged for usage of underground water. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by the chief justice heard Katas Raj suo motu case. During the hearing, the chief justice has said that cement factories will have to pay for underground water they are using. Hearing a case, the chief justice also remarked that underground water is very precious and cement factories are using it but now it will not be available to them for free. CJ Nisar also took the notice of underground water usage by mineral water companies. He directed Punjab Food Authority (PFA) to seek report from all the companies as to how much water they are using and how much they are paying for it.
