RAWALPINDI (92 News) - CENTCOM Commander General Kurilla on Wednesday phoned Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir Ahmed Shah to express his condolences to the people of Peshawar following Monday's terrorist attack.

The leaders spoke about counterterrorism and border security.

Meanwhile, the White House on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Peshawar.

In a statement, White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson called targeting a mosque particularly inexcusable. “This is tragic and heartbreaking news, and we extend our deep condolences to the loved ones of those who have lost their lives. Terrorism is indefensible, and to target worshippers is unconscionable,” she added.

Watson said that the United States is ready to provide support to Pakistan “in its efforts to recover and rebuild.”
