Ch Nisar launches SMS Rabita service for issuance of CNICs, passports

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali has announced to launch SMS contact service for issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and passports. Addressing a press conference at Interior Ministry on Wednesday, he said that people would get the passport at their houses. “The names of over 5,000 people will be removed from the Exit Control List. Now no name will be included in the ECL without any justification,” he said. The minister said that NADRA’s income had increased by Rs five billion during the first year of the government. “Corrupt employees will not be tolerated in any department.” He said that 138 NADRA employees involved in forgery had been expelled and several had been arrested. “Incentives will be given to good employees for their encouragement,” he maintained. He said that the home delivery of CNICs will start in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
