Govt removes English daily reporter's name from ECL

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has removed the name of English daily reporter from the exit control list (ECL). Earlier in a meeting with the APNS and CPNE office-bearers on Friday, he Interior Minister Ch Nisar had assured that the name of English daily’s reporter would be removed. He said that it was not in the national interest to give an impression of difference between the government and the Army. “There is no difference between the government and the Army. The publication of the false news created problems for Pakistan in the world,” he said. Ch Nisar said that they want to investigate the news and would continue action as per law. He said that the government respects the freedom of expression. “The journalist publishing the news should cooperate with the investigation committee,” he said. Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and the PIO were also present.
