ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that there is no leniency for the sectarian organizations.

Addressing the Senate on Monday, Nisar said, “We never said that the terrorists should be treated harshly and the people involved in sectarianism should be treated with leniency.”

The interior minister said that the government would bring a new law for such organizations. He said that his one statement was exaggerated and added that he is answerable if any impression of leniency is found towards the banned and sectarian organizations.

He further said that 324,000 CNICs have been blocked so far. The blocked CNICs of Pashtoons are greater in number as 35 lac Afghans have come to Pakistan. We are not fond of taking an action on ethnic basis, he said.

The interior minister said that he never took credit for the successful operation in Karachi.

He said that nobody knew about the banned organizations before Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The terrorist organizations were eliminated through the operation.

He said that there no cases are registered against the leaders of the sectarian parties so how can he take an action against them.

Nisar went on to say that one banned organization’s head took part in the previous elections and nobody raised a voice against him but when a delegation met him on the issue of CNICs, objections were raised.

He added that NACTA has been directed to bring a new law against the terrorist and sectarian organizations to tighten the noose against them.
