Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi says he neither left govt nor joined opposition

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - In an attempt to pacify the situation arising after his interview with a private TV channel, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has said that he has neither left the government nor joined the opposition.

Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said that though they are allies of the government, but belong to a different party. "We supported the government in each difficult time. The prime minister is an honest person and has good intention," he declared.

The PA speaker said that decisions are always made in consultation with the allies. "The government will be in a benefit if it does consultation with the allies," he added.

Meanwhile, spokesman for Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has said that the problems are solved through talks. "The government should take steps to reduce inflation and unemployment. The PML-Q has always done the politics of public welfare," he added.

He said that the PML-Q will make decision keeping in view the national interests.
