ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah has said that cheap and speedy justice is responsibility of the state and the fundamental right of citizens.

Addressing a ceremony of the groundbreaking of District Courts on Tuesday, he said that the weak are encouraged by the rule of law.

He said that judges were restored in the 2007 movement, but objectives could not be achieved. "Fruits of the restoration of the judiciary could not reach to the people," he observed.

"The judiciary is just a unit in the judicial system. The real partners of the judicial system are people of the country," he maintained.

He said that provision of justice becomes difficult when a true witness becomes rare. "No citizen will be deprived of cheap and speedy justice," he added.
