ISLAMABAD( 92 News) – Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan will retire tonight after completing his term. Under Article 217, ECP Punjab Member Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi will be the acting chief election commissioner. Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi will take the oath as acting CEC on Friday. He took the oath as the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan on December 6, 2014. Under his supervision, the Local Governments Election 2015 and first ever elections for Islamabad Capital Territory and Cantonments Boards were held. He introduced a wide range reforms within the ECP which are widely acknowledged. He also served as Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan from June 5, 2014 to December 5, 2014.
