LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar directed on Friday that the time of wedding halls should be extended by one hour in Lahore. A bench of SC Lahore Registry headed by the chief justice heard a case regarding the extension in the time for wedding halls to hold a function. During the hearing, the chief justice asked the deputy commissioner Lahore, to review timings of the marriage halls in Lahore. “Marriage halls are allowed to host wedding functions from 8 to 10 pm. Women spend so much time getting ready and later remain stuck in traffic during these peak hours. Upon reaching the venue they find the hall management switching off the lights,” the top judge remarked. The top judge then told the DC to look into the matter and extend the limit by changing it to 9 to 11 pm instead. The CJP also asked the Lahore Mayor to take notice of the traffic jammed in Lahore during night. He also said that administration should create ease for the public in traffic jam. It is pertinent to mention that the wedding halls in Lahore end the function at 10 pm.
