Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed orders to check degrees of policemen across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed has ordered to check degrees of policemen across country.

He was presiding over a meeting of Police Reforms Committee on Thursday.

The CJ ordered the IGPs not to register fake FIRs and make unnecessary arrests. He also sought a report from the Interior Secretary and provincial chief secretaries.

Chief Justice Gulzar also demanded a list of expert officers having experience of investigation into different crimes from the National Police Bureau DG.

"Unnecessary pressure should be ended on the police. Only relevant IGPs should have the power to appoint and transfer the police officers," the CJ observed.
