Chief justice is firmly standing against 'Doctrine of Necessity': Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Renowned lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial is firmly standing against the 'Doctrine of Necessity'.

Addressing the lawyers convention on Monday, he said that the lawyers community and the nation is standing with the chief justice.

"The government says the constitution orders to hold the elections in 90 days, but it does not accept it. It is requirement of the constitution to hold the election. The people are looking towards the Supreme Court," he added.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that the martial law was imposed in the country for times under the 'Doctrine of Necessity'.
