China asks world to identify Pakistan’s efforts for counter-terror financing

BEIJING (92 News) – China has asked world community to identify and encourage Pakistan’s political will and active efforts for counter-terrorism financing. Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Geng Shuang said ehile commenting on Pakistan’s Action Plan report which was discussed during the joint group Financial Action Task Force meeting in Beijing. The Chinese spokesperson expressed satisfaction over visible progress made by Pakistan to strengthen its domestic counter-terrorism financing system. He hoped that the FATF would continue to offer constructive support and assistance to Pakistan in its continued efforts to improve the counter-terrorism financing system and effectively fight the terrorist financing. Earlier, China’s envoy to UN Zhang Jun has said China recognizes Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) as a disputed territory between India and Pakistan and supports UNSC resolutions calling for the exercise by Kashmiri people of their right to self-determination through a UN-supervised plebiscite. Speaking to the journalists at UN Headquarters, he said China’s position on Kashmir dispute is very clear. Earlier, the UNSC has again discussed the prevailing grave situation in occupied Kashmir which was put under military siege and lockdown by Narendra Modi-led communal government in New Delhi when it revoked special status of the territory in August, last year. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan welcomes the UN Security Council discussing the situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K) again. In a tweet on Thursday, he said that an internationally recognized dispute remains on the Security Council’s agenda and its consideration by the Council reflects recognition of the seriousness of the prevailing situation. “The Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people. We will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they secure their inalienable right to self-determination,” he resolved.
