Citizen abduction in police van: AVCC arrests two more policemen in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) - The personnel of Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) have arrested two more policemen over charges of abducting a citizen in a police van in Karachi.

According to the reports, four people including the DSP have been arrested in the case. Police officials told media that CIA’s AVCC officials nabbed two more cops, taking the number of arrests to six including a high-ranking officer, driver Nasir, Amir and Waseem. Moreover, the government weapons and mobile phones of the suspected cops were also seized.

They added that the prime suspect, DSP Rashid Iqbal, had been arrested yesterday in connection with the businessman abduction case.

Saeedabad DSP Rashid Iqbal was arrested on Monday after he was named in the abduction of a builder in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar. “Iqbal’s gun and mobile phone were used in the crime,” the spokesperson said. “He had taken Rs1.5 million ransom from the builder’s family as well.”
