Citizen challenges new local bodies act in Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – New local bodies act has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday.

The court has issued notice to President Dr Arif Alvi, Interior Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokar, Law Secretary Raja Naeem Akbar and Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan.

Plaintiff Sardar Mehtab has said that the council of unselected people to run local bodies government is against the Law.

Counsel of plaintiff Qazi Muhammad Adil has said that in the presence of the local government act of 2015, the new system is contradictory to an ordinance.
