RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The civil and military leadership has on Tuesday attended a high level security meeting held at General Headquarters (GHQ). The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Lt General (r) Nasir Janjua and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and other senior military officials were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the civil and military leadership has resolved to protect core national interests by thwarting all evil designs of inimical forces. The meeting expressed satisfaction on the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb. It was agreed that the achievements in bringing stability in the country will have to be sustained at all costs. Reaffirming commitment to enduring regional peace, it was underlined that hostile intelligence agencies and their facilitators will not be allowed to foment trouble inside Pakistan. The meeting expressed concern on US drone strike in Balochistan calling it a clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty affecting mutual trust and undermining the spirit of Afghan Peace Process under mutually agreed Quadrilateral framework.
