Civil, military leadership meets; discusses NAP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A meeting on the National Action Plan (NAP) was held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair. National Security Adviser Nasir Janjua is briefing the participants about different aspects of the implementation of the NAP. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), Director General Intelligence Bureau (DG IB) and Director General Military Intelligence (DG MI) were also present in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the chief ministers of all four provinces, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Nasir Janjua and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fateemi and Secretary Foreign Affairs Aizaz Chaudhry. During the meeting, progress on the NAP was discussed, while the matters relating to registration of religious schools and stopping of funding for terrorists also came under discussion. On the other hand, this will be followed by meeting of National Security Committee (NSC).
