ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has expressed anger over the incompletion of Orange Line Metro Train Project within fixed time. A bench headed by the chief justice at Supreme Court Lahore Registry heard a suo-moto notice on Lahore’s mega projects on Friday. During the hearing, the CJP remarked that Lahore has faced many difficulties. “I need a time frame when Lahore will be freed from this ordeal,” he said. The representative of construction company appeared before court. The representative official informed court that 90 per cent work on the project is complete, adding that the remaining work is to be done by the Chinese companies which can take three to four months. He also said that the last two cheques, which received from government, were bounced. To this, the chief justice asked the finance secretary why the cheques were not cleared. “Talk to the representatives of new government and tell me how long will this project take. I will take an undertaking from you all in how much time the project will be completed. I will not let any contractor back out from the project,” the top judge remarked. CJP Nisar also summoned the finance secretary to the court in next hearing.
