CJ orders NAB chairman to ensure secrecy of people's trials

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Monday met National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman (r) Justice Javed Iqbal in the chamber During the meeting, they discussed the matters related to the NAB cases and inquiries against the key persons. The chief justice ordered to the NAB chairman that the NAB should ensure the secrecy of people, who are facing inquires, whenever, the NAB decides to file the reference against any individual. The top judge also forbid to the NAB head to bureau’s practice of leaking information of people facing NAB inquiries to the media, adding that so that no embarrassment is caused to anyone. Earlier, the Supreme Court took exception to the NAB’s practice of leaking information of people facing inquiries, leading to their character assassination without any charge being proved against them.
