MULTAN (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa has said that advocacy is to serve the masses, not to make money. Addressing the Multan Bar Association on Friday, he said that lawyers should think about the benefit of the clients. “If a judge does not make a decision, there is no difference between a Qasid and him,” he declared. The CJP was of the view that lawyers will have to forward the tradition of seeking and imparting the knowledge. “It is mandatory for juniors to get training from seniors otherwise this sequence will not advance in a better way,” he said. He said that he had started law practice on January 9, 1981. “The area of Multan has produced several eminent lawyers. I learnt a lot from the lawyers of Multan. I had been champion of table tennis of Multan Bar,” he said. CJ Asif Khosa said that no one could think of speaking against judges, but now untoward incidents in courts are a routine matter. “In the past, judges were more than the cases. Each lawyer wants to be heard by judges who want to deal with more and more cases which causes problem,” he said. He said that now senior lawyers are much more less than junior lawyers.
