KARACHI (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed laid the foundation stone of a city in Sindh Judicial Academy on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it was not a Judicial Academy, but had the status of a helping academy. “I hope that the institution will play a role in the best training of judges,” he said. He said that there was need of such modern campus in Karachi and the Sindh judiciary would benefit from it. “Judges from across the country can also benefit from it,” he said. The CJP said that two houses of judges were turned into an academy in 2003, which later became a regular academy. He said that he hoped it would be the biggest academy in the country. “It will become a university in future.” Justice Mashir Alam, Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, SHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ali Sheikh, Justice Irfan Sadat Khan, Justice Faheem Siddiqui, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan, Advocate General Salman Talibuddin and several other notables were also present. Earlier, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh presented a bouquet to Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed on his arrival.
