CJP seeks report on non-implementation of Faizabad sit-in case verdict

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa on Thursday sought a report on non-implementation of the Faizabad sit-in case verdict.

Hearing the review petitions with regard to the Faizabad sit-in case, he questioned that why all people were so much afraid. He also asked the petitioners to give reasons about the withdrawal of the review petitions.

He called for starting the self-accountability process from this institution for delay in the implementation of the verdict.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court heard review petitions with regard to the Faizabad sit-in case.

The SC had announced a verdict in 2019 in the suo-moto case about a sit-in in 2017 at Faizabad, Islamabad. Later, multiple review petitions were filed before the top court against the verdict which were pending.
