CJP takes notice of medical college student’s murder

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has on Tuesday taken notice of murder of medical college student Asma in Kohat after she rejected marriage proposal. The CJP also summoned a report from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Regional Police Officer (RPO) within 24 hours. Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that the suspect is said to be a relative of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader. He further questioned how the suspect was able to flee the country. Earlier, police had apprehended accomplice of the prime accused in the murder of medical college student in Kohat, Mujahid Afridi’s brother Sadiqullah Afridi. Sadiqullah Afridi is the brother of prime accused in the case Mujahid Afridi. The prime accused of the murder had fled to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visa from Benazir Bhutto International Airport. As per reports, the accused left for the airport soon after carrying out the attack. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) said that the accused will be brought back through Interpol. On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor and Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak took notice of the incident and sought report. The slain medical college student revealed the name of her attacker moments before she succumbed to her wounds. “Mujahid Afridi, Mujahid Afridi,” Aasma was heard saying. Earlier, the third year student of Abbottabad Medical College was heading towards her house along with her sister-in-law when accused Mujahid along with his accomplice opened firing, due to which Asma received bullet injuries. She was rushed to hospital where she later succumbed to her wounds. Asma had come home to meet her family in Kohat during session break. Mujahid Afridi is the nephew of PTI local district president.
