CJP takes suo moto notice of schools torched in Diamer

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday took suo moto notice of schools torched in Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan. The chief justice sought a report of the incident from the Secretaries of Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan. The top judge ordered the ministries to present report within forty-eight hours. No one claim the responsibility of the incident till now. The police is conducting search operation to arrest the attackers who damaged the property of the girls' school. The officials of the security agencies are conducting raid in different areas of the Gilgit-Baltistan. It was reported that four suspects have been arrested to related school attack incidents. Lately, Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk has ordered relevant authorities to submit a report on the attack on girls' schools in Chilas. Strongly condemning the attack, PM Mulk said that those involved in the incident will be held accountable. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan also took to social media to condemn the attack. A day earlier, the unidentified extremists against education attacked 12 girl’s schools located in different areas of Chilas, district Diamer on Thursday late night. unidentified men attacked 12 girls’ schools across and damaged school property. The attackers vandalized and demolished the items in the schools. After damaging the school’s property, they set them on fire. Meanwhile, two schools in Ronai and Takia were targeted with explosive material. The miscreants also set ablaze schools located in Hoder, Thor, Gayal village, Tabour, Khanbari, Jaglot, Gali Bala and Gali Paeen. Police and district administration reached at the scene following reports of the local people. The police cordoned off the area and conducted search operation to find the accused.
