CJP takes suo motu notice of closure of Abpara road

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday took suo motu notice of closure of a road in Abpara area of the federal capital. The CJP was conducting hearing of case related to illegal construction. While giving his remarks, the CJP said that it was not allowed to close road in the name of security. He said that the law is equal for everyone. Justice Saqib Nisar summoned a report from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman in this regard. On Wednesday, the top court had instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remove all the barricades placed in front of the two five-star hotels and directed to open the roads for the public. The court regarding the barricades positioned along the Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy outside the hotel said that no blockage would be tolerated on a single inch of road. Additionally, the bench asked that why the hotel on Agha Khan Road should be provided with an exemption since they also had set up barriers outside the hotel.
