CJP Umar Ata Bandial expresses concern over haphazard increase in population

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial has expressed a concern over an haphazard increase in population, stressing the need for a comprehensive strategy to tackle it.

Addressing the National Conference 'Resilient Pakistan: Calibrating Population and Resources' at the Supreme Court of Pakistan hosted by the Law and Justice Commission on Friday, he said that pleasure of a person lies in the pleasure of a family.

"In the constitution, the purpose of basic rights to please the people. It is basic responsibility of the state to protect the rights of the citizens," he added.

He said that Pakistan will have to adopt austerity as the first step. "There is need to provide education and skill to the youth," he added.

The CJP also stressed the need for providing jobs in the country. "Pakistani judges should have knowledge about new needs and ideas about the society," he added.
