Close Pak-US partnership imperative, says Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi has on Monday met with the US Ambassador-designate to Pakistan David Hale and discussed regional and international affairs. The prime minister’s special assistant Tariq Fatemi said that a close and strategic partnership between Pakistan and the United States is imperative in view of regional and international issues. He expressed hope that historic relationship between the two countries would continue to strengthen in future during the tenure of new US Ambassador. Fatemi recalled Prime Minister's recent visit to the US and said the two sides have agreed to strengthen their relations in the fields of defense, security, energy, trade, economy and education. On this occasion, the new US Ambassador also expressed confidence that Pakistan-US relations would continue to follow a positive trajectory in the coming days.
