CM Buzdar approves construction of 10 new shelter homes in Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has approved construction of ten new shelter homes (Panagahs) in Lahore for homeless people sleeping on the streets. He accorded this approval in Lahore on Wednesday while chairing a meeting to review the measures to further improve facilities for helpless class in Panagahs. He also gave in principle approval to set up Panagah Authority in the province. Earlier, CM Buzdar visited a shelter home near the shrine of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh. He interacted with the passengers and inquired their well-being. The chief minister ordered the Lahore deputy commissioner to resolve the problem of a senior citizen hailing from Wazirabad immediately. He asked the passengers about the facilities being provided in the shelter home. “The PM’s project for the homeless is unique.” CM Usman Buzdar also ordered to ensure implementation of anti-coronavirus SOPs in shelter homes. “It is responsibility of the government to provide board and lodging to the homeless,” he said. He said that he himself would monitor arrangements in the shelter homes. Punjab Law Minister Raja Muhammad Basharat, Auqaf Minister Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah and others also accompanied him.
