CM Buzdar interrogated in liquor licence case, handed questionnaire

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) without protocol in a case pertaining to allegedly issuing a liquor license to a hotel, illegally. CM Buzdar reached at the bureau’s Lahore office to record his statement without any protocol. He was interrogated by a combined investigation team of the bureau for about one hour and 40 minutes. He was handed a 12-page questionnaire to furnish replies to along with complete details by August 18. It was also reported that the chief minister was handed the questionnaire after he failed to answer some of the questions put to him. The chief minister reached at the bureau’s Lahore office to record his statement without any protocol. His hearing comes a day after a violent clash between workers of the PML-N and police personnel outside NAB office shortly after the arrival of opposition party’s vice president Maryam Nawaz there in a land acquisition case. Usman Buzdar stopped all PTI leaders and ministers to come at NAB Lahore office. The Punjab chief minister will go to the bureau office on his personal behalf. He will also give answers of the NAB's questions with written reply. According to the NAB sources, the Punjab chief minister had issued a liquor licence to a private hotel, which is right of DG Excise. He has been summoned to record his statement in the inquiry, sources said.
