CNS Admiral Zafar visits UK to discuss cooperation between two naval forces
LONDON (92 News) – Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi on Wednesday visited the UK to discuss cooperation between the two naval forces.
Naval Chief Zafar Mahmood Abbasi held talks with his British counterpart and other naval officials during his visit to UK and discussed matters pertaining to expanding cooperation between the two naval forces.
The naval chief was conferred with Royal Naval College Medal. Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbassi also attended a conference and visited National Maritime Information Center there.
Earlier, CNS Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, who is on an official visit to Kenya, called on Commander Kenya Navy and also visited various naval institutions.
Upon his arrival at Mtongwe Naval Base, the Admiral was received by Commander Kenya Navy, Maj General Levi Franklin Mghalu and was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers. A guard of honour was presented to the Naval Chief on the occasion.
During the meeting with Commander Kenya Navy, matters of mutual interest and bilateral naval collaboration were discussed. Both the dignitaries agreed upon further enhancing mutual cooperation in diverse realms. The CNS highlighted Pakistan Navy’s contribution for ensuring maritime security and peace in the region through Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP) and participation in Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).
The Commander Kenya Navy appreciated and acknowledged the role and contributions of Pakistan Navy in spearheading various initiatives for maintaining peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region.
Later, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi visited various institutions of Kenya Navy including Kenya Navy Training College (KNTC), Bridge Simulator and under construction Kenya Naval Dockyard where the Naval Chief was given onsite briefings. The Admiral visited various sections of the Training College and appreciated the standards of training. The Naval Chief also planted a sapling at the College.
On April 27, CNS Admiral Zafar visited Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard at Shanghai, Shuang Liu Construction Base at Wuhan and met heads of shipbuilding industry on Saturday.
Upon arrival at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard (HZS) and Shuang Liu Construction Base, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was received by heads of the respective construction yards. The CNS was given detailed briefings on the facilities and construction activities going on at the construction yards.
