Coalition partners shouldn’t be treated like second wife: Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday has termed that the coalition partners should not be treated like a ‘second wife’. Speaking to a Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) delegation, the speaker asked the government to fulfill its promises to allies, adding that the government should not consider coalition partners as ‘second wife’. After constitution of new committees of PTI government, Pervaiz Elahi said that when that committee was making progress with negotiations, it was changed.  He raised his concerns with the government and asked that why the previous one was changed. “The government should take into confidence its allies, and stand firm on the fact that we are together, out problems and losses are the same,” the pUnjab assembly speaker maintained. “If the government suffers a loss, it will have a ripple effect and have the same impact on us,” he added.
