COAS Asim Munir, US CENTCOM Commander Gen Kurilla discuss security cooperation

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla visited GHQ on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, the visiting dignitary laid a floral wreath at Martyrs’ Monument in honour of the martyrs of Pakistan. A smartly-turned out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

Later, Commander CENTCOM called on COAS General Asim Munir followed by a delegation level meeting. Matters of mutual interest, regional stability and security situation, defence and security cooperation particularly military-to-military ties were discussed during the meeting.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s achievements in fight against terrorism, flood relief and contributions for regional peace. The delegation will also visit Torkham today. He will be apprised on counter-terrorism and border management mechanisms in place along Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
