RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, security situation along the Line of Control and other matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
The COAS said that Pakistan Army is fully prepared and capable to respond to all types of threats from across the border.
The AJK prime minister thanked the army chief for Pak Army's contribution towards security and development in the territory, particularly in the field of education, health and communication infrastructure.
The COAS also met Mr Essa Abdullah Albhasha Alnoaimi, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, matters of mutual interest were discussed.
The COAS condoled the loss of lives of UAE nationals in recent Kandahar blasts. The army chief appreciated the role of ambassador in enhancing Pak-UAE corporation in different fields. He also thanked the UAE ambassador’s contributions towards development projects in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ambassador acknowledged and appreciated the role of Pak Army in fight against terrorism and militancy and expressed the desire of UAE to continue working together for peace and prosperity in the region.
