COAS, Chinese envoy discuss bilateral cooperation, regional security

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday to discuss various important issues.

According to a statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two discussed issues of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation as well as the regional security situation.

During the meeting, the issues pertaining to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were also discussed. Referring to the Chinese defence minister’s visit to Pakistan earlier this month, COAS General Bajwa said the agreement signed would further strengthen relations between the two countries.

According to ISPR, the Chinese envoy appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region.
