COAS directs commanders to assist civil administration over coronavirus

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has directed all commanders to take “maximum necessary measures” to assist the civil administration for the safety and well-being of the people over coronavirus outbreak. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that all medical facilities of the armed forces have been operationalised and geared up to meet any eventuality to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. It also said that coronavirus testing labs have been established at major military hospitals across the country and a central testing lab has been set up at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Rawalpindi. “COAS has directed all commanders to take maximum necessary measures to assist the civil administration for the safety and well-being of the people,” the ISPR further added. On the other hand, the National Health Ministry confirmed on Tuesday 195 coronavrius (COVID-19) cases across Pakistan as new cases surfaced in Punjab and Sindh. Punjab and Sindh have reported new cases of COVID-19.
Number of coronavirus cases in Punjab rises to 8
According to the Coronavirus Command & Control Center, five cases of of coronavirus have been confirmed in DG Khan, taking Punjab’s tally to 8. The center has also confirmed that one death and two patients recovered from this deadly virus.
Suspected coronavirus patient dies in Lahore
A suspected coronavirus patient in Lahore has passed away, Punjab Health Department Secretary Kaiser Sharif said. According to Sharif, the patient was admitted in the isolation ward of Mayo Hospital Lahore on Monday night. He had been tested for coronavirus and his results were expected to be received today afternoon. After showing the death of one coronavirus patient, Coronavirus Command & Control Center mentioned again death is zero.  
5 more cases emerge in Sindh; provincial tally rises to 155
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has risen to 155. Spokesperson for the Sindh government Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that so far 119 zaireen in Sukkur had tested positive while 115 tested negative. In addition to this, 36 tested positive in the province — 34 under treatment and two cured. Wahab did not specify where the new cases emerged, however, the tally for the zaireen in Sukkur has not increased since Monday night.
KP govt to quarantine 250 people arriving from Taftan border in DI Khan
Adviser to KP Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Wazir has said that the people arriving into DI Khan from the Taftan Border will be quarantined at Mufti Mahmood Hospital. He said that groceries and other amenities have already been made available at the quarantine facility.
6,500 people died, more than 170,000 infected by COVID worldwide
Globally, 158 countries have been affected, more than 6,500 people have died and more than 170,000 infected by the disease called ‘COVID-19’ as it spreads rapidly to new territories. The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.
