COAS Gen Raheel Sharif vows to ensure timely, dignified TDPs' return

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif chaired an important Special Apex Committee meeting at Corps Commander Headquarters in Peshawar.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR, matters pertaining to the security situation in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be discussed, while the ongoing operation in FATA will also be reviewed during the meeting.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Peshawar Corps Commander, senior provincial and FATA Secretariat officials attended the meeting.

COAS Gen Raheel Sharif paid rich tributes to the resilience and sacrifices of the people of FATA and KP for their unflinching resolve and courage. He vowed to ensure timely, dignified TDPs' return to resettle them in their homes.

“Proud tribesmen of FATA and people of KP stood up to atrocities of the terrorists, pushed them back and marginalized them in the society, which deserves highest of accolades,” he said.

The COAS Gen Raheel Sharif further reiterated his commitment with tribal brethren, to rebuild the area, revive entire socio-eco infrastructure.
