COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa orders to continue combing operations for stabilization

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday spent his day at Corps Headquarters, Peshawar for in depth briefing on state of security operations and way forward in FATA, KPK and Malakand Division. According to the ISPR, the COAS said that for optimum effect of sealing move of terrorist either side, border management will have to be bilateral both by Pakistan and Afghanistan on their respective sides. Appreciating gains of counter terrorism operations, he said that focus must remain on indiscriminate IBOs, combing operations for stabilization and consolidation. “Having created conditions for good governance and socio-economic reforms, Army stands by valiant tribals and work with the government to bring equitable development across the FATA,” he said. The COAS said that nexus between terrorists in remote areas and their facilitators in urban centers will be severed whatever the amount of effort and time. He stressed the need for immediate and dignified repatriation of TDPs to their houses. On his arrival, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hadaytur Rahman welcomed him.
