COAS meets Iranian Supreme NSC Secretary Ali Shamkhani, Army Chief Mousavi
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani and Army Chief Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi.
According to a press release issued by the ISPR on Tuesday, regional security environment and bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
Earlier on November 18, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Major General Mohammad Hossein, Chief of Staff Iranian Armed Forces.
In a tweet, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that both discussed regional security environment, efforts for regional peace and stability and Pak-Iran Border Security Mechanism.
Earlier on Monday, General Yasar Guler, Commander Turkish Armed Forces (CGS), called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
According to a press release issued by the ISPR, regional security environment and steps to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
The visiting dignitary appreciated the role of Pakistan Army for peace and stability in the region.
