RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid glowing tribute on the martyrdom of brave Wing Commander Noman Akram in the line of duty. In a tweet on Wednesday, the COAS said: “Laying one’s life is the ultimate sacrifice one can make for defence of the motherland. May his soul rest in peace. My thoughts and sincere prayers are for the bereaved family.” Earlier, Wing Commander Noman Akram was martyred during the crash of F-16 jet near Shakarparian in Islamabad. According to the PAF spokesperson, the pilot was martyred when jet crashed near the chand-tara jungle in the federal capital. It added that the plane was carrying out routine exercises for the March 23 parade. The PAF spokesperson further said that a board of inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of accident. Apparently, Noman Akram was among the best pilots of PAF who even flew Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in an F-16, recently. The martyred pilot even had the Sher Afghan Trophy 2019 to his name. Undoubtedly, it is a huge loss for the PAF as well as for the nation but Noman Akram will definitely live in our hearts forever.
