COAS Qamar Bajwa, Afghan Ambassador Shukrullah discuss regional security

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Shukrullah Atif Mashal, Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and overall regional security situation were discussed. On June 9, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Kabul on a one-day visit where he held talks with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two discussed bilateral issues, border management and the Afghan peace process during their meeting. The army chief is accompanied by Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid and Pakistan’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq on his visit to Afghanistan. The visit by COAS Bajwa follows a meeting with US Afghan envoy Zalmay Khalilzad on Sunday.
