COAS Qamar Bajwa directs Pak Army to expedite assistance to civil admin

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed the Pak Army to expedite assistance to the civil administration. In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday, the COAS said that adopting of measures to protect against coronavirus individually is in fact the basis of the collective protection. “The protective step taken individually has a great significance. First of all, we have to become a responsible citizen individually so that the efforts of the government and institutions may become successful at the collective level,” he suggested. COAS Qamar Bajwa said that it was responsibility of each Pakistani to follow the directions of the government and the Health Department with regard to coronavirus. “The national effort can be successful by following the directions. No threat can defeat a responsible and determined nation as China did,” he added. The COAS said that the Pak Army becoming the part of national effort will perform this responsibility. “The Pak Army will take up the process of nation’s protection against coronavirus as sacred duty,” he added. He said that individual discipline and mutual cooperation will unite all the institutions and this will be a national success. Earlier on March 17, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had directed all commanders to take 'maximum necessary measures' to assist the civil administration for the safety and well-being of the people over coronavirus outbreak. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that all medical facilities of the armed forces have been operationalised and geared up to meet any eventuality to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. It also said that coronavirus testing labs have been established at major military hospitals across the country and a central testing lab has been set up at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Rawalpindi. “COAS has directed all commanders to take maximum necessary measures to assist the civil administration for the safety and well-being of the people,” the ISPR further added.
