RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has expressed grief over the death of renowned religious scholar Allama Talib Jauhari. According to a press release issued by the ISPR, he prayed: “May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul in eternal peace and give strength to the bereaved family, Aameen.” Earlier, eminent religious scholar and theologian Allama Talib Johri was laid to rest in Karachi. His funeral prayers were offered at Amroha Ground which was attended by people from all walks of life. Prime Minister Imran Khan, Information Minister Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and other important leaders expressed deep grief and sorrow over his sad demise. Renowned religious scholar Allama Talib breathed his last in Karachi in the early hours of Monday. He was 81. He had been under treatment in the intensive care ward of a Karachi hospital for an as yet undisclosed illness. Born on August 27, 1939, Allama Talib Johri was the son of renowned scholar Allama Mustafa Khan Jauhari. He was respected widely for the spiritually invigorating ‘Shaam-e-Ghareebaan’ gatherings he hosted in Karachi’s Nishtar Park. Muslims from all schools of thought would travel from far and wide to hear him speak. A master orator, he was also a prolific writer. He wrote several books, including a detailed commentary on the Quran. He was also a poet, and three compilations of his poetry were published during his lifetime.
