COAS Qamar Bajwa orders immediate rescue operation for quake victims in AJK

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed the immediate rescue operation for the earthquake victims in aid of civil administration for victims of the earthquake in AJK. According to a tweet by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday, Army troops with aviation and medical support teams dispatched. Three people were killed while 70 others wounded when an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale struck several cities across country and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After the earthquake, flights were stopped in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. Roads have been damaged and crevices were created in canals in Mirpur. The wall of a house collapsed in Jhelum. Several buses and vehicles turned turtle due to the earthquake.
