COAS Qamar Bajwa, Qatar Emiri Guard commander discuss regional security

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Major General Hazza bin Khalil Muhammad Al-Shahwani, Commander Qatar Emiri Guard, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Monday. According to a press release issued by the ISPR, matters of mutual / professional interest and regional security situation were discussed during the meeting. The visiting dignitary appreciated professionalism of Pakistan Army and expressed his desire for increased Pakistan-Qatar defence collaboration. Meanwhile, Qatar Emiri Guard Commander Qatar Emiri Guard, Staff Maj General Hazzaa Bin Khalil Bin Mansour Al-Shahwani call on President Dr Arif Alvi. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arif Alvi said that fascist Indian regime was flagrantly violating the human rights of Kashmiris by revoking the special status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoJ&K) and by suspending their civic liberties through a 113 day long clampdown, with the aim of ultimately altering its demography, in utter violation of numerous UN Resolutions and established human rights principles. He said that the BJP-led Indian government had adopted a hostile attitude towards all its minorities. In this regard, the international community had the responsibility to persuade India to resolve Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Resolutions, he added, and urged Qatar to support Pakistan in its endeavours to highlight Indian human rights violations in IoJ&K before the world as well as to resolve the dispute amicably.   Earlier on November 19, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani and Army Chief Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi. According to a press release issued by the ISPR on Tuesday, regional security environment and bilateral defence cooperation were discussed. In a tweet, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that both discussed regional security environment, efforts for regional peace and stability and Pak-Iran Border Security Mechanism. Earlier on Monday, General Yasar Guler, Commander Turkish Armed Forces (CGS), called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. According to a press release issued by the ISPR, regional security environment and steps to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed during the meeting. The visiting dignitary appreciated the role of Pakistan Army for peace and stability in the region.
