COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa visits Kharian Headquarters Central Command

KHARIAN (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Jhelum and Kharian Garrisons on Thursday. According to the ISPR, he was given a detailed briefing on operational preparedness at Headquarters Central Command. The COAS visited Para Rangers at Jhelum and witnessed the concluding session of the Army firing competition. A total of 667 military and civil shooters from across the country participated in the four-week event. Special feature of the event was participation of 86 officers and soldiers wounded in war in the competition. Appreciating their performance, the COAS desired that with more focused preparations their teams would excel and participate in international events. Addressing officers and jawans at Kharian Garrison, the COAS appreciated officers for their contribution in the counter terrorism operations as part of the Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The COAS paid rich tributes to the injured and martyrs who sacrificed for their country. He said that Pak Army is a great institution. “Its dignity and credibility shall be upheld through selfless performance of their role and duties,” he maintained. Earlier on his arrival, the COAS was received by Lt Gen Umar Farooq Durrani, Commander Central Command. Sources said that army officers had put questions to the COAS about Dawn Leaks and military courts. They revealed that army officers had also raised the issue of a recent statement of Rana Sanaullah.
