COAS, Saudi military adviser discuss regional security

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Military Adviser to Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister Major General Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed during the meeting. The ISPR said that a training exchange program and other measures to enhance defence collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also came under discussion. COAS Gen Bajwa affirmed Pakistan Army’s support towards capacity building of Royal Saudi land forces. The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan Army’s valuable contributions particularly towards regional peace and stability. The ISPR also apprised that Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al Malkiy was also present during the meeting. Earlier, a US delegation led by General Kenneth F McKenzie Jr, Commander US CENTCOM, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. According to a press release issued by the ISPR on Monday, geo-strategic environment and regional security, including Afghanistan and Kashmir situation, were discussed. On September 6, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated that Kashmir is incomplete agenda in the completion of Pakistan. Addressing the main ceremony at GHQ in Rawalpindi, the COAS paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid their lives for the defence of the motherland. “The sacrifices of our son of the soil will not go in vain. Our sacrifices for the sake of country are examples for the world,” he added. The army chief said that Pakistan has sacrificed a lot in the war against terrorism and today’s Pakistan is better than the one in Past in terms of security. Referring to the latest situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK), General Bajwa has said India is carrying out worst rights violations in the held valley. “The World should take notice of the matter with immediate effect.
