COAS thanks all guests for gracing Defence Day ceremony at GHQ

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa thanked all honourable guests for gracing "Defence and Martyrs Day" ceremony at Pakistan Army's  General Headquarter (GHQ). According to the tweet of Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, the army chief said that "we displayed faith, unity-discipline as a nation across Pakistan. He also paid the salute to the martyrs and their family members. "COAS thanks all honourable guests for gracing ‘Defence & Martyrs Day’ ceremony at GHQ." "We displayed ‘Faith-Unity-Discipline’ as a nation across the country. Same shall take us to our rightful destination, IA. Salute to Martyrs & their families”, the army chief added.   A day earlier, the ceremony regarding "Defence and Martyrs Day" was held at GHQ. Prime Minister Imran Khan, COAS Gen Bajwa among many other key personalities attended the ceremony. Addressing to the ceremony, the prime minister said that the nations destroy that have not strong institutions. “The nation can become great when labourers, farmers and security personnel could achieve high position by working hard,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that they are united to defend the motherland. He said that they had learnt a lot from the wars of 1965 and 1971. “We strengthened our defence for the traditional wars. We made our defence invincible,” the COAS said. The COAS said that later the era of unconventional war started. “Terrorism emerged during the last two decades, which turned into a war,” he said. Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the nation has been celebrating the Martyrs Day along with the Defence Day since 2014. He assured that the blood of the martyrs will not go waste. “We will make the country a centre of peace,” he resolved.
