COAS visits COD, lauds role in safeguarding stocks for optimum use

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday visited Rawalpindi Central Ordnance Depot (COD). According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the army chief over-viewed the special instruments and combat equipments during his visit. The ISPR also lauded the officials of COD for reviving obsolete equipment and safeguarding stocks for optimum use in view of reducing the burden on the national exchequer. The ISPR said that the COAS visited various facilities and infrastructures of the depot handling vast range of specialised equipment and clothing items for Army. Chief of Logistics Staff Lt Gen Azhar Saleh Abbasi accompanied Gen Qamar Bajwa.
COAS visits Northern Light Infantryman Battalion along LOC
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Northern Light Infantryman (NLI) Battalion along the Line of Control (LOC) on Saturday. According to the ISPR, the COAS hailed state of operational readiness, high morale and motivation of the troops. COAS, Qamar, Bajwa, Northern Light Infantryman, Battalion, LOC He appreciated a befitting response to provocative Indian fire despite restraints on Pakistan Army due to safety and security of Kashmiris along the LOC. COAS Qamar Bajwa said: “We are well aware of defence and security challenges being faced by the country and we are capable to defeat all threats ‘irrespective of the front’.” Commander Rawalpindi Corps also accompanied COAS Qamar Bajwa.
COAS appreciates FF Regiment’s contributions, sacrifices
Earlier on April 30, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Frontier Force Regimental Centre, Abbottabad. During his visit, the army chief installed Lieutenant General Aamir Abbasi as Colonel Commandant of the FF Regiment, said the ISPR.
