Cockpit voice recorder of PIA plane found in debris of crash site

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The cockpit voice recorder from the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-8303 plane crash incident in Karachi on May 22 has finally been found. PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez Khan said the cockpit voice recorder – a vital piece of equipment in aircraft crash investigation, was recovered from the debris of the crashed plane site. The PIA officials handed over the cockpit voice recorder of the ill-fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-8303 to Aircraft Accident Investigation Board, he said. The cockpit voice recorder was recovered from the rubble in the residential area where the plane crashed. The equipment will greatly help the investigation and will provide important clues about what happened in the moments preceding the crash. The PIA spokesperson said the recorder had been handed over to the team investigating the incident. It is pertinent to mention here that the investigators had made hectic efforts to recover the voice recorder from the crash site which is important for the plane crash inquiry. PIA had also urged citizens not to keep any part of the wreckage and hand it over to the relevant authorities. The Airbus experts will take the aircraft’s black box, which contains the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder, and any other evidence that would help with the investigation. On the other hand, the French experts of Airbus company resumed their investigation process at the site of plane crash in Karachi. The team is investigating the evidences and wreckage of plane with modern equipment. Civil Aviation Authority and PIA technical experts are also assisting French team to ascertain causes of plane crash.
